ISHII IRONWORKS is the only one maker which manufacture and sell the fly fishing reel in Japan.
We have from #2 reel for a mountain stream to #15 reel for the big sea.

The development of the reel making

Saltwater fly reel to fish the big fish is well-known for a reel made of the military industry maker in the North America. They make up the precision fly-reel which has high-quality on the basis of the parts, such as the aircraft. However, there are some weak point that the price is high, it takes a lot of time to fix a reel, the parts is expensive and so on.
The late Masutaro Ishii established Ishii Ironworks, Inc. in March,1916. I am Noboru Ishii. He is my grandfather. Ishii Ironworks, Inc. manufactured various precision parts of the fighter and the oil pressure, etc. the same as the U.S. reel maker.
I thought that I made the reel by myself because there is no reel made in Japan until now. I make up the original drag system which has a strong central part and design a strong light body. And then I manufacture the top-class reel in the world. A user use it contentedly. This is our starting point of the reel making.

The characteristic of WELLSTONE FLY REEL

WELLSTONE FLY REEL is used by original perfect cork drag system. This system is strong and specially easy to control in the saltwater field. We are proud of this fine drag control system. It is possible to control a drag tension.
#9-10/ #11-12/#14-15......We made it possible "the quick rolling-up of line" which is needed to fight with a running away fish through using lightweight large arbor type. We prepare some body color, blue, silver, gold and black. Our main color is blue which is the image of the sea.
Fresh water series for trout.....We develop a new drag system which is needed to fight with a trout by using an extrafine-pointed tippet in the fresh water. It is possible to control small drag tension though it is the cork disk.
We could be realized that a reel body and spool have the superlight weight because of cutting solid aluminum bar stock with a machine. A part which is in need of the strength is the shell structure which has the strength. A part which is not in need of the strength is thinned by the processing technique. It becomes to difficult for the trouble to happen because both body and spool have a special simple structure.
